An Excalibur is an improved version of the popular Challenger Ultralight built by Quad City. This stretch version is built for taller pilots and allows for easier boarding and deplaning. 20.8 TTAF, 20.8 hours on the engine, fresh annual as of 29 March 2010. Max weight is 1000 pounds and the aircraft weighs 500 pounds. With an average size pilot you can carry up to 300 pounds of camping gear, and cruise at 75-80 MMPH on 3 gallons per hour. The aircraft was test flown and deemed airworthy by one of the finest test pilots in America, Dave Harris. You probably know Dave from his air show years as Dave "The Hammer" Harris flying the BD5 micro-jet. The BD5 microjet was also known as the Silver Bullet in the Coors beer commercials. The aircraft has always been hangared and is located at 27AZ, Eagleroost Airpark, Aguila, Arizona. The kit currently sells for $19,500.00 with the Rotax 503, and I have added a lot of goodies to make this a real fun airplane. I have well over $26,000.00 invested, and I am asking $19,750.00 for a quick sale, which is only $250.00 !!! over the kit price without the extras. See the equipment list below, then click on each item for details. The color of the airplane is white with a few deep red accents on the engine, gear and wing gap seal. You can personalize it by adding your own paint scheme. A gallon of the deep red paint is included.
