Brakes

The brakes that come with the kit are like a wheel barrow, with just an axle, washer and cotter pin. The first time the plane was landed in a crosswind the pin sheered off and the wheel and tire went down the runway.

The kit also comes with only 13 in. tires, which are not that great for landing in the desert or remote areas. The added hagar brake system would only hold the aircraft at about 2500 RPM, too low for a good mag check.

So I installed these new hydraulic brakes, wheels and larger 15 inch tires. The brake system made by Marco Ingenero an Italian company. These are the same brakes and wheels that come on the CT Flight Design, LSA sport airplane. These brakes with the 6 inch discs will hold the aircraft up to over 6000 RPM.

Included with the wheels are the axle extensions for installing wheel pants.

The brake lever and master cylinder is on the pilot control stick.
