This was a fun trip. Down to the Ambrosia Mill and headed west to the wilderness area. Then north to a mine, a water tank and a dam.
Today is Gnettie's birthday. The gang sang "Happy Birthday" during lunch, and gave her some nice cards.
Hottest day so far going to 95 °

We arrive at the end of the road. It was blocked by the BLM because of the wilderness area. Water tank with a pipe running up the wash.

The gang walked up the closed road following an old water pipe. Gorgeous scenery.

Gorgeous scenery.

Up the trail Dale discovered that the cattle were finding water by digging in the wash.
Here's Dale digging for water. (No he is not a midget.) Sweet clear water from the shallow hole.

The journey up the wash, following the pipe.
Pipe is old and rusted. Has a split in it in places. Up high and on the left. From days of yesteryear. The folks that laid this pipe are long gone.

Can imagine what the water flow looks like during a monsoon. Water can be found in places.

Rock must have been on a pool of water. Here is a pool of water!

Pipes lead to dam ! Down stream from the dam. Rugged country !

Dam is all filled with sand. Mark Sheridan and Bob Symns in the background. So many years ago all this had to be hauled in with mules !

Upstream from the dam.
