The Great Adventures of the Yamaha Viking VI 08-Jan-22
Group:
Yamaha Viking VI: Gary and Gnettie Eisert, Donna Davidson, Sherwood, Kirsten & Butch
Polaris General: Mike and Debby Gruenthaner
This was a first trip where the Yamaha was loaded with 6 people.
I must say it performed admirably, but with it fully loaded the ground clearance was greatly reduced.
The road was very rough and major washouts in sections which you will see on the video.
At one point the gang had to get out of the Yamaha and walked up a washed out hill.
Mike did an amazing job of leading the pack. Down Aguila road to just past the cattle guard, south to the microwave station road, then east to mile marker 8, then turn left and come back to Aguila Road. Down a few miles then turn right into the desert. Follow the road down the wash and then turn right into no-man's land and end up at the Geode deposit.
First stop was the unknown grave. We discovered some one has replaced the old wooden cross with a new steel one.
The road ended at a boulder strewn wash. Geodes are in the hard rock and hard to remove.
The road looking back.

On the way out on the Microwave Station road Butch spotted this animal's grave off the highway.
