Up Dushey Canyon to the Linde Mine.
Bob and Sabrina drove up to the mine but the road was so very rough the rest of the vehicles stayed down at the bottom of the hill.
Then most of them walked up to the mine.
On the way back we stopped at the mine shaft next to the windmill and Brice repelled down into it.
Rarely seen in the desert are these herds of wild donkeys.
These are the descendants of donkeys that were set free a hundred years ago when their owners died or simply abandoned them.
The rock strewn road to the Linde Mine.
Views of the inside of the mine. A long tunnel with the ore car rails still intact.
Bob took his rig up to the mine but for the rest of us we decided to stay down as the road was way too rough. Gnettie, Sherwood and I decided to avoid the long hike up the hill.
Don't your wonder where this stuff comes from.. Where is the rest of it ?
Old filled in mine shaft at the side of the road.
A reminder of the harsh life in the southwest desert.
Coming back we found this old corral.
A little was further back down the hill was a working windmill and behind it an old mine shaft. After we examined it Brice decided to repel down into the mine and check it out first hand.
Brice preparing to go down into the mine shaft.
And down he goes !
Brice found 2 owls living in the mine shaft. The first one flew out right away and this little guy was too scared to move. After a while he got the courage to fly away.
